Constitution
The Name of the Group is the Ellon Ramblers 50+
1. Aims and Objectives: The aim of Ellon Ramblers is to offer a group facility for adults to ramble.
2. Membership: Membership is open to any adult aged 50 years and over.
3. Association: Ellon Ramblers is an independent organisation. The affairs of Ellon Ramblers will be under the control of a Chairperson, Vice-chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer and three other members, herein after referred to as the Committee. The committee will be appointed by the members after nomination and voting procedures are undertaken. The Chairperson and Vice-chairperson will be appointed for a term of three years, after which they may be re-appointed in accordance with the above procedures. The Secretary and Treasurer will be appointed annually and may be re-appointed in accordance withe the above procedures. the Committee may appoint sub-committees on an ad hoc basis.
4. Committee: The committee will be responsible for:
ensuring the smooth running of Ellon Ramblers
ensuring that all monies are entered in the appropriate ledger and a current bank account is maintained
ensuring that members are informed of the up-to-date conditions and rules of Ellon Ramblers
ensuring maintenance of all assets
ensuring regular discussion on all matters relating to Ellon Ramblers
ensuring that members are aware of Ellon Ramblers insurance code- bottom of page
ensuring that members are aware of health and safety issues
ensuring that members wear appropriate clothing and footwear while engaging in the activities of Ellon Ramblers
5. Finance: The committee will be responsible for:
Ellon Ramblers funds will be lodged in a current bank account.
Withdrawal of funds from the bank account will require two signatures
The Treasurer will keep account of all income and expenditure and liaise with the Chairperson to agree statements
The funds of Ellon Ramblers are solely for the promotion and furtherance of its aims and objectives and no payment whatsoever shall be made directly or indirectly to the persons associated with the running of Ellon Ramblers which must be approved by the Committee
6. Annual General Meeting : An Annual General Meeting will be held in December of each year at which all members are invited to attend
7. Dissolution: In the event Ellon Ramblers being dissolved for any reason, the assets and funds should be shared between a local charity and Scottish Air Ambulance, subject to the satisfaction of all debts and liabilities of Ellon Ramblers.
Insurance Code
'Ellon Ramblers' does not provide insurance cover for members and is not responsible for injury to members or loss of property during an outing. Individual members may, if they wish, arrange their own personal insurance cover.
